What We Do

Education and Empowerment

Education is the cornerstone of empowerment. We strive to provide access to quality education, skill-building workshops, and mentorship programs that equip girls with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed.

Mentorship and Support

Mentorship plays a pivotal role in shaping futures. Through our mentorship initiatives, we connect girls with experienced mentors who offer guidance, support, and inspiration to nurture their confidence and ambition.

Community Networking

We foster inclusive spaces where girls can connect, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. Our community events, forums, and networking opportunities encourage collaboration, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity.

Advocacy and Awareness

Advocating for girls' rights and raising awareness about crucial issues is fundamental to our mission. We actively engage in campaigns and partnerships to address challenges, promote equality, and amplify the voices of girls.

Projects

Ignite Her Future Bootcamp

The "Ignite Her Future Bootcamp" is designed to empower girls and young women by equipping them with professional skills and fostering their confidence. This bootcamp provides a nurturing community that supports participants in pursuing their dreams, making impacts in their local communities, and seizing global opportunities. Through hands-on activities, mentorship, and community engagement, we prepare these young women to become leaders and innovators in their fields.

You Are Not Alone

The YANA Project is an initiative dedicated to supporting survivors of harmful practices, including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and rape. Launched in Ijebu-Ijesa, Osun State, Nigeria, our goal is to provide essential mental health support and skills empowerment to help survivors rebuild and enhance their lives. We also aim to contribute to the eradication of these harmful practices.

Literacy Clinic

The Literacy Clinic is dedicated to advancing the educational outcomes of girls and young women from low-income families and underserved areas. This project focuses on enhancing literacy skills while also developing public speaking, writing, and social interaction abilities. Through tailored support, we aim to foster self-improvement and empower participants to achieve their full potential, equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed academically and personally.

 – What our community says

Joining the Ignite Queens at The GLEA Network was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. At GLEA, I found a community of exceptional individuals dedicated to nurturing and bringing out the best in me. The support here is unparalleled—always there when I need it the most.

~ Christiana Akinlaja

GLEA has made a significant impact on my life that I will never forget. I am deeply grateful for their support, which has made me stronger and more hopeful. They have given me the confidence to believe that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

Yana project Participant

My passion for making a difference in my community was reignited during my undergraduate days when I discovered the GLEA network. Through GLEA’s mentorship and opportunities, my journey became clearer. It provided me a platform to both train and be trained. Participating in UNICEF’s Youth Advocacy training was especially life-changing.

~ Akindele Diana
Grant Officer, Glea Network

I am deeply grateful to The GLEA Network for their unwavering support during a time when I felt all hope was lost. Words cannot fully capture my appreciation for the organization’s role in contributing positively to my life and my babies. The sewing machine provided by GLEA has not only enhanced my skills but has also significantly contributed to my livelihood and income.
